The tire pressure monitoring system is referred to as "TPMS" for short. This technology can monitor the various conditions of the tire in real time by recording the tire speed or the electronic sensor installed in the tire, which can provide effective safety for driving.
The tire pressure monitoring system can be divided into two types: one is an indirect tire pressure monitoring system, which judges whether the tire is abnormal by the difference of the tire speed. The other is a direct tire pressure monitoring system. By installing four tire pressure monitoring sensors in the tire, the tire pressure and temperature are automatically monitored in real time while the car is stationary or driving, and the high pressure, low pressure and high temperature of the tire are timely monitored, and then alarm to avoid traffic accidents caused by tire failure to ensure driving safety.
The Cadillac CTS tire pressure monitoring system is mainly composed of a pressure and temperature sensor installed in the car tire, a signal processing unit (MCU), an RF transmitter, a lower TPMS transmission module, an antenna, and a digital signal processing unit installed on the car's cab. (MCU), RF receiver, liquid crystal display (LCD) and so on.
When the air pressure of any of the four tires drops severely, the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) will alert the driver and enable the driver to observe the tire pressure through the liquid crystal display (LCD) while driving. When the vehicle speed increases to 32km/h, the centrifugal force closes the internal scroll switch of the sensor, thereby putting the tire air pressure sensor into the "driving" mode. In this mode, the sensor transmits a signal to the antenna module every 60s.
If the tire pressure monitoring system detects that the tire pressure has dropped significantly or if the tire is over-inflated, the corresponding indicator light in the driver information center will flash. At the same time, the tire pressure on the dashboard instrument cluster is too low, and the warning light will be on. Adjusting the tire pressure to a standard value can turn off the warning light on the combination meter. The antenna module can detect any faults in the tire pressure monitoring system. If a fault is detected, it will cause the driver information center to display a "SERVICE TIRE MONITOR" (service tire monitoring system) warning message.
TPMS sensor is a chip system module integrating semiconductor pressure sensor, semiconductor temperature sensor, digital signal processing unit and power manager. In order to strengthen the tire pressure detection function, many TPMS sensor modules have added acceleration sensors, voltage detection chips, and internal clocks. These functional chips enable the TPMS sensor to not only detect the changes in tire pressure and temperature within the tire in real time, but also realize the functions of instant start-up, automatic wake-up, and energy saving during automobile movement. The power manager ensures that the system achieves low power consumption, so that a single battery can be used for 3-5 years. So when the battery is dead, you don't need to reset tire pressure sensor.
Cadillac CTS tire pressure monitoring system TPMS sensor uses silicon piezoresistive pressure sensor. In order to facilitate the identification of the TPMS receiver, the pressure sensors all have 6-8 unique ID codes.
