The three safety systems of automobile include TPMS, ABS and SRS. They are the three safety measures to ensure the life safety of vehicles and drivers.
At present, ABS and SRS have been forced to install in vehicles in most countries. The United States, the European Union, Japan, South Korea and other countries have legislated to enforce the installation of TPMS on vehicles. On January 1, 2020, China began to implement the mandatory tire pressure monitoring regulations, requiring all passenger vehicles in production to install TPMS.
Tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) is a kind of wireless transmission technology, which utilizes the high sensitivity micro wireless sensor fixed in the tire to collect the tire pressure, temperature and other data in the driving or static state , and transmit the data to the main engine in the cab. It displays the tire pressure and temperature and other relevant data in a digital form in real time. It is an auto active safety system of displaying all tire pressure and temperature status on one screen, and reminding the driver in the form of beep or voice when the tire is abnormal (to prevent tire blowout). It ensures that the pressure and temperature of the tire are maintained within the standard range to prevent tire blowout and damage, to ensure the life safety of vehicle passengers, and to reduce fuel consumption and damage of vehicle components. Since there are many models of cars, there are many types of TPMS such as gm tpms sensor, audi tpms sensor, mercedes tpms sensor, acura tpms sensors, jeep tpms sensor and so on.
The function of ABS is to automatically control the braking force of the brake when the car is braked, so that the wheels are not locked and are in the state of rolling and sliding (The slip ratio is about 20%), so as to ensure the maximum adhesion force between the wheels and the ground. It can give full play to the effectiveness of the brake, and shorten the braking time and distance to effectively prevent the vehicle from sideslip and tail flick during emergency braking. It has good driving stability.
When the wheel is about to reach the next locking point, the pressure of the brake oil causes the air bag to act repeatedly. In this way, it can act 60-120 times in a second, which is equivalent to constantly braking and relaxing. That is, it is similar to the mechanical‘cadence braking’. Therefore, ABS can avoid direction out of control and wheel sideslip during emergency braking, so that the wheel will not be locked when braking, and the tire will not rub against the ground at a point. It can increase the friction, and make the braking efficiency reach more than 90%. At the same time, it can reduce the brake consumption and extend the service life of the brake drum, disc and tire twice. The antiskid performance of vehicles equipped with ABS on dry asphalt road, rainy day and snowy day reaches 80% - 90%, 10% - 30% and 15% - 20% respectively.
Air bag refers to the device that makes the air bag expand to protect the passengers before the second collision. When the impact sensor detects the impact, the relevant control system will judge the impact degree to determine whether to trigger the inflation device or not, which is generally combined the ignition device with the gas generating agent such as gasoline or explosive to form the gas charging module. In order to ensure the safety of waste disposal, the airbag is usually only detonated at high temperature. Due to the very short time of the impact process, it takes about 25-35 milliseconds for the airbag to complete the inflation process from triggering to completion. Too long inflation time will lose its effectiveness.
As an auxiliary device of the occupant restraint device of the seat belt, air bag is called SRS. The air bag system is composed of an integral air bag module which is composed of an air bag and an inflation mechanism (gas generator), a collision sensor system which senses the collision and sends the deployment command to the air bag module, and a harness which transmits the signal sent by the sensor.
The three safety systems of automobile are very important for the safety of automobile and passengers. We need to know something about it.
