Tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) is a wireless tire pressure and temperature monitoring system. Through the sensor installed in the tire to monitor the tire internal pressure, temperature and other information, and using radio frequency mode, the data information collected by the sensor is sent to the TPMS signal receiver and displayed on the combined instrument.
The tire pressure monitoring system can monitor tire temperature, air pressure and tire rotation acceleration, in which air pressure and temperature can be displayed by specific values on the instrument driving computer.
Common Alarm And Release Methods
1. High Pressure Alarm:
When the tire pressure is higher than 345kpa, the high pressure alarm starts, and the tire pressure recovers below 335kpa to remove the high pressure alarm. The red indication position represents the position of the abnormal tire, which indicates that you need to vent the tire.
2. Low Pressure Alarm:
The low pressure alarm threshold is divided by cars, some cars adopt fixed low pressure alarm threshold, when the tire pressure is lower than 175kpa the alarm starts, and the tire pressure is restored to above 210kpa to relieve the low pressure alarm. In other cars, the dynamic alarm threshold is adopted, and the tire pressure control system will monitor and obtain a reasonable alarm point and alarm release point according to the tire temperature, external atmospheric pressure and external environment temperature. To put it simply, the low pressure alarm tire pressure will increase with the increase of fetal temperature, which ranges from 175kpa to 220kpa. Alarm release value will also change, generally in the range from 210kpa to 230kpa.
3. Quick Deflagration Alarm:
When the tire pressure is reduced by more than 30kpa in 1 minute, the instrument begins to release the pressure alarm quickly, suggesting that you need to check the tire for failure immediately, and the alarm needs to be cut off before it can be lifted.
4. Sensor Battery Low Alarm:
When the sensor itself detects that the battery power is insufficient, a low battery alarm of the sensor will be carried out, indicating that you need to replace the sensor, and in the case of normal driving of the vehicle, the battery life of the tire pressure sensor can be up to 10 years.
5. TPMS Signal Anomalies And Sensor Failures:
When the tire pressure signal receiver can not receive the tire pressure signal from the tire pressure sensor, the TPMS signal abnormal alarm is carried out. This alarm only means that the current wireless communication is interrupted briefly, and the alarm will be lifted automatically when the communication returns to normal.
The alarm is not caused by the failure of the sensor itself, but mainly due to the fluctuation of wireless communication environment. There are many factors that will affect the wireless communication environment in the vehicle, such as the installation of third-party navigation, cigarette lighter expansion, interphone, high-frequency wireless communication equipment, high-frequency signal interference equipment and so on, which may lead to this problem.
