When the difference of tire pressure is too large, it will lead to the speed inconsistency between wheels, which is detected by ABS system, so it is inferred that there is a problem in the tire pressure of the vehicle.
The advantage of this design is low cost and no additional equipment. But the disadvantage is that the system can not measure the specific tire pressure, and the application environment has limitations. For example, if the tire pressure of four wheels changes at the same time (such as temperature, altitude and other factors), the tire pressure warning system will not give an accurate prompt, which may cause the tire to run with low tire pressure or high tire pressure for a long time.
Another common function of tire pressure monitoring is to install a pressure sensor in the tire. Then it transmits the signal to the central control screen or driving computer in the car, and directly display the current pressure of each wheel in digital form. Even some sensors can display the tire temperature. This kind of tire pressure monitoring function is also very common in the aftermarket refitting, and the price is not high. Hundreds of dollars can buy large brand refitting parts.
At present, the mainstream luxury brands basically have standard configuration of tire pressure monitoring system. After all, luxury brand models generally sell at a higher price, which has a larger elastic space between profit and cost, so standard configuration of tire pressure monitoring is not difficult. But for non luxury brands, standard configuration of tire pressure monitoring is still rare.
