Six Major Automotive Safety Technologies

The most important thing about driving is safety. You must pay attention to it from the moment you sit in the car, because no matter you are poor or rich, your life safety is above everything else. You must pay attention to all the systems around you that can affect safety, such as tire pressure monitor system( also called TMPS, which is used to monitor the tire pressure), lane-keeping assist system, etc. Next, let's discuss the first three most advanced technologies of the six.

1. LKA: Lane-Keeping Assist System

The lane-keeping assist system is one of the intelligent driving assist systems. It is based on the lane departure warning system (LDWS) to control the brake control coordination device. Lane-keeping assist can help the vehicle keep driving safely in the preset lane. Many people prefer this function. For example, the LDWS lane keeping assist system carried by Lingdu can keep the vehicle always driving in a lane. If the vehicle deviates from this lane, the steering wheel will vibrate to remind the driver to pay attention to safety until the driver return to the normal lane. The device that helps the system to complete this action is a camera on the front windshield. It can automatically monitor the road surface when the vehicle speed is greater than 65km / h, the turning radius is greater than 250m, the turn signal is not turned on, and the lane width is greater than 2.8m and less than 4.4m. It can automatically monitor the position of the road dividing line and send it back to the driving computer for data analysis. I always think that the concentration of driving increases with the speed of driving. Running at high speed is definitely the most troublesome. Sometimes there is often a mental dissipation. Although only a few seconds, it is really dangerous. Whether it is cruise control, adaptive cruise, or this LDWS lane-keeping assist, it is actually an auxiliary method to help the driver improve safety.

2. FCW: Forward-Collision Warning System

FCW can always monitor the vehicle in front through the radar system, determining the distance, bearing and relative speed between the vehicle and the front vehicle, and warning the driver when there is a potential collision hazard. The FCW system itself will not take any braking measures to avoid collision or control the vehicle. If the vehicle is too close to the vehicle in front during driving, the warning lamp at the front windshield will continue to flash to remind the driver. If the vehicle continues to approach, the driver has not yet taken braking measures, and the warning lamp flashing frequency and brightness will be further enhanced, at the same time add the buzzer alarm. At this time, the collision warning system will also intervene in the braking system to actively brake the vehicle, thereby reducing the accident injury rate.

The collision warning system is a product that can predict driving hazards and warn the driver before a collision hazard occurs to prevent traffic accidents. It is called "the third eye that never tires". This system is the most basic technology to realize automatic driving, and it is also a necessary configuration for IIHS to judge the highest safety evaluation of vehicles. Car brands that use this technology now include Volvo, Infiniti, Mercedes-Benz, Toyota, etc.

3. ACC: Adaptive Cruise Control System

The adaptive cruise control system is a new system that adds a control function to maintain a reasonable distance from the vehicle in front. According to the information detected by the vehicle distance sensor, and the vehicle's driving route information determined by the vehicle's speed sensor and the yaw rate sensor, it is determined whether there is a vehicle driving ahead on the same lane of the vehicle. Distance sensors use microwave radar or range radar. When there is no vehicle in front of the same lane, drive at the set speed like normal cruise control, when a vehicle appears in front of you, drive at a speed lower than the set speed to control the reasonable distance between the vehicle and the vehicle in front. An intelligent car equipped with an adaptive cruise control system uses radar and a computer to identify whether a bicycle, car, or pedestrian approaching the vehicle, completely or partially replacing the driver's operation.
