Tire pressure monitoring system is abbreviated as "TPMS". This technology can automatically monitor various conditions of tire by recording tire speed or the electronic sensor installed in tire, which can provide effective safety guarantee for driving. There are two kinds of tire pressure monitoring system: one is indirect tire pressure monitoring system, the other is direct tire pressure monitoring system.
In some European and American countries, cars are gradually equipped with the original tire pressure monitoring system, which is directly integrated in the driving computer and displayed in the middle of the central console dashboard. Tire pressure monitoring system has become a hot topic and development focus in China's automotive electronics industry. In the following five years, 71 million tires are expected to be equipped with tire pressure monitoring sensors.
U.S. law requires that all passenger cars and light trucks sold in the U.S. from August 2007 must be equipped with a tire pressure monitoring system, and Europe has enacted regulations to that effect. China owns many consumers, and it is believed that the government will enact similar regulations in the near future. Demand for TPMS is making an emerging industry rise.
Companies such as Corvette, BMW, Infiniti, Volvo, Chevrolet, AUDI, LANDROVER, LEXUS and so on use tire pressure monitoring system, to install tire pressure sensors on four wheels to directly sense tire pressure and monitor tire temperature. This way is much more effective.
At present, there are still many areas need improvement in the tire pressure monitoring system. For indirect systems, the lack of gas on the coaxial or more than two tires cannot be shown. Monitoring failure when the speed is more than 100 km/h. For direct system, the stability and reliability of wireless signal transmission, the service life of sensor, the accuracy of alarm prompt and the voltage resistance of sensor all need to be improved urgently.
